Hourly Position Overview:
Keeping our Facility and employee's safe is a huge priority for Boston Whaler.
We're looking for an honest and professional individual to join our security team.
This is an opportunity to interact with people daily and take pride in keeping them and our facility safe and secure.
The on-duty Security Officer is often the first person that people encounter as they begin their workday or visit our facility.
We're looking for someone with a friendly attitude who can represent our organization well while focusing on security.
Security Officer
Qualifications:
Completed High School Diploma or GED Program.
Pass a criminal record check, and drug screening.
Helpful, courteous attitude.
Must be able to work variable schedule with 4-day work week.
Security Officer Preferred
Qualifications:
Proficiency with computers, and aptitude to learn new software and systems.
Experience with security equipment and video monitoring systems.
One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience.
Security Officer Objectives:
Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrols, strict access control, and video monitoring.
Be visible and observant at all times, greeting staff, guest, and vendors in a courteous and attentive manner.
Respond immediately to distress calls, alarms, and emergency calls.
Collaborate with the security team for effective protection and coverage.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to employees, vendors and/or visitors.
Make rational decisions under pressure.
Security Officer Daily
Responsibilities:
Patrol facility on foot, ensuring the safety and security of staff, guest, vendors, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter in all weather conditions, to include securing all doors, windows and exits depending on shift.
Investigate and take appropriate action as authorized by company policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activity, safety, and fire incidents.
Monitor our video and fire system, reviewing footage if necessary, and alerting authorities if needed for emergencies.
Addressing any infractions of company rules or policies and/or forwarding to appropriate level of management.
Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry to facility and directing employees thru the gates during start and end of shifts.
Complete daily operation, visitor logs and incident reports, including relevant information, observations, and issues addressed.
Answer phones and respond to other inquiries at the security office.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Employees must be capable of standing and walking for most of their shift.
